The intensive care nurse/intensive specialist (Dipl. Intensivpflegefachperson FA IPS/Dipl. Expertin/Experte Intensivpflege NDS HF) is responsible for attending to patients on all AEMS (Airplane Emergency Medical Services) missions carried out on behalf of Rega. Together with the flight physician, they provide patients with professional medical care and monitor their medical condition from when they are put into their care until they are handed over at the destination hospital. The intensive care nurse also looks after the patient’s next-of-kin and is responsible for safety in the cabin on missions with Rega’s ambulance jets.

Professional requirements

• AKP/IKP/DN II or HF diploma
• Completed additional training in intensive care and reanimation or completed supplementary intensive care training (Intensivpflege HF)
• At least 3 years’ interdisciplinary vocational experience after completing additional training
• Driving licence, category B
• Good IT user knowledge
• Place of work: Rega Center, Zurich Airport
• Age at the time of recruitment: 30–38 years old
