Rega base Erstfeld

The Rega base in Erstfeld is located in the heart of Switzerland. The Uri crew flies approximately 1000 missions a year. The range of missions is wide: in summer, their missions mainly involve accidents in the mountains, while during the winter months, the crew is frequently called out to attend to injured winter sports enthusiasts. In addition to road and occupational accidents, transfers from local to central hospitals play an important role. The centrally located base also frequently receives requests to assist with missions in other regions.

Medical assistance by air

The Rega crews and their state-of-the-art rescue helicopters are ready to be deployed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, in the service of the Swiss population. Stationed at 14 helicopter bases throughout the country, they can reach any location in Switzerland within 15 minutes’ flying time – regardless of whether in an urban area or in the mountains, after an accident or in the event of acute illness.
